The sands are slipping through the hourglass for Jair Jurrjens. [Jurrjens] is trying to stay positive as he attempts a comeback from a bone bruise in his right knee, but with a little more than two weeks left in the regular season, the odds are long and he knows it. Jurrjens has been playing catch while wearing a specially-fitted knee brace for the past four days, and working on strengthening his right quadriceps muscle to take pressure off his knee. But he's got no immediate timetable to start throwing off a mound. ... When asked about his chances to get back this season, he hung his head. Would Miami trade Bosh to land Nene?
The Heat won't have much money to spend on free agents, which may make the dream some may have of landing Nene merely that. The case for: Well, he's a free- agent, apparently enjoys South Florida, and could have a better shot at a title here than in Denver. That said, this is a player who opted out of $11.6 million in 2011-12. So how? The only way that could make any sense would be a sign-and-trade. But what exactly would the Heat have available in that regard, unless they are willing to throw Chris Bosh into a deal? The case against: The numbers just don't seem to work, no matter whether you're talking mid-level exception or some sort of sign-and-trade. (Sun-Sentinel)Comment

Well, this didn't take long. It's absolutely unfair to place all the blame on [Kyle Orton] for the bumbling, fumbling, not-ready-for-prime-time performance of the Broncos during Monday Night Football, when they lost 23-20 to Oakland. But Orton has lost all credibility with Broncomaniacs. And John Fox now finds himself in an unusually bad spot after only one loss as the coach in Denver. ... [Tim Tebow] was in uniform. He looked handsome wearing a Broncos cap on the sideline. But he did not play a down. Guess it would have required imaginative offensive thinking to find any role for him in the game plan.
