A very favorable schedule -- in terms of putting people in the seats, anyway -- is coming to Miami. Only one thing would be better for the Marlins' new stadium than the coming schedule of two Yankees exhibitions, a Red Sox series and the league-wide opener next April against St. Louis and Albert Pujols, as announced Wednesday. Here's the one thing: [Albert Pujols] playing that game in a Marlins uniform. I know, I know: That's insane. It'll never happen. The Marlins don't work that way. Club owner Jeffrey Loria doesn't spend money like that. Why would Pujols come to this team? ... These are the Marlins we're talking about! Isn't that what you're thinking? Well? Former teammates pile on Ochocinco
A day after former Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi took aim at Chad Ochocinco, two current Bengals were critical, though less direct. When asked about the differences between last year's offense and this one, especially when it comes to getting out of the huddle earlier, Cedric Benson pointed out one reason. "Because you had some challenges out on the edges you had to deal with," Benson said. "You don't have those anymore. Guys line up and generally know what they need to do and what the task is on each play." ... [Andrew Whitworth] was asked if losing big-name players ended up [making the team better]. For all the positive energy coming from the Rick Adelman news comes an unfortunate headline. [Adelman] faces the task of battling the organization's losing tradition -- no playoff appearances since 2004. Even more unusual for Adelman, who ranks eighth among NBA coaches in all-time wins, is the possibility he will do most of his communicating with Wolves owner Glen Taylor instead of team president of basketball operations David Kahn. A report on Yahoo Sports claimed Adelman was wary of dealing primarily with Kahn in the interview process, prompting Taylor to take a more active role in the talks. "Rick would never agree to anything with Kahn," a league official connected to Adelman told Yahoo Sports. "This had to be a deal with Taylor. Rick has talked many times of his dislike for Kahn."
