Rangers slugger Josh Hamilton hit his first grand slam since 2008 last night, helping Texas to a 9-1 win against Cleveland. More importantly for some fans, the dinger meant free flooring and countertops. CC Carpet & Flooring Design ran a promotion in which anyone who bought new floors and carpets in September got them for free if Hamilton hit a grand slam. The store is expected to lose $500,000. Hopefully, they still have enough money to get their website running again after the crush of traffic caused by all this. (Thanks to Chris Faulkner, of Dallas, for the link.)

Last night. First inning. Grown man, on cell phone, makes a catch with his glove. Awful.

Speaking Of The Rangers...

First, Broncos fans chanted his name while the Raiders were beating Denver on Monday night. Now, eight friends have pooled their money to buy two billboards that will ask coach John Fox to start Tim Tebow over Kyle Orton at quarterback.

Apparently, September is German American Heritage Month. Complex.com is celebrating the occasion by listing the 50 hottest German women. Model Hana Nitsche (above) comes in at No. 3. You will be very familiar with the woman who locked down the No. 1 spot.

As we get deeper into the college football season, get yourself familiar with Arizona State linebacker Vontaze Burfict. The man is clearly high-strung and may have some anger issues. In other words, he's fun to watch. Plus, he has an awesome name.

Hot Clicks posted a pair of videos this week of CFL quarterback Buck Pierce getting leveled. Here's a vicious tackle -- and in my opinion, cheap, since the defensive player launches himself -- made by North Carolina Wesleyan's Dwayne Hollis on an Ohio Northern player. (Thanks to Kevin Quicker, of Rocky Mount, N.C., for the video.)
