In case you were wondering how little Mike Tomlin cares for a certain bit of history with the Jaguars, he made things pretty clear for Jacksonville reporters Wednesday by hanging up on them. During a conference phone call, Tomlin got irritated when the line of questioning centered on the Steelers' 31-29 loss to the Jaguars during a wild-card playoff game on Jan. 5, 2008. Just 12 questions into the call, Tomlin had enough. ... "Many of those guys are no longer here and definitely many of the guys that were in Jacksonville are no longer there. Anybody got any questions relative to this week?" After a short pause when no more questions were asked, Tomlin ended the call by saying "Thank you, have a good one," and hanging up the phone. Buck Showalter reportedly flew to Baltimore Wednesday to meet with owner Peter Angelos to discuss who replace Andy MacPhail as head of baseball operations. The club is believed to be working from a list that includes Arizona Diamondbacks senior vice president for scouting and player development Jerry DiPoto, Texas Rangers assistant general manager Thad Levine, Toronto Blue Jays assistant GM Tony LaCava, Florida Marlins assistant GM Dan Jennings, Los Angeles Dodgers assistant GM De Jon Watson, Detroit Tigers assistant GM Al Avila, Los Angeles Angels executive and former GM Tony Reagins and Dodgers assistant GM Logan White. Elite superstars overseas tour?

Barnstorming may become the next best thing to the NBA these days. We've started to hear credible rumblings of a big-time overseas tour for a group of elite NBA superstars, designed to fill the void left by the cancellation of the first two weeks of the season. The details are a little fuzzy at this point, and none of this has been confirmed (we'll leave that to the reporters who are sure to chase this story), but here's what we're hearing: - A group of NBA stars will head overseas for a tour from the last week of October to mid-November. - Names we're hearing include Carmelo, LeBron, Kevin Durant and Chris Paul.
