Once again, Major League Baseball makes a dumb decision. This time, a report says the league nixed the Rangers' proposal of having Mavericks star (and NBA champion) Dirk Nowitzki throw out the first pitch before one of Texas' home games in the World Series. Oh, and who is throwing out the first pitch in St. Louis before Game 2? Someone who won a contest. (Thanks to Neil Turner, of Dallas, for the tip.)

You'd think the Notre Dame Fighting Irish would spend their energy trying to turn around their football program and win something more impressive than the Sun Bowl, but that's not the case. Instead, the university is going after a Kansas high school -- which has been nicknamed the "Fighting Irish" since 1967 -- for using a leprechaun logo.
