Fox: Tebow would be [cooked] in traditional offense

Jake Delhomme fired John Fox a congratulatory text Monday, complimenting the coach for winning "the Foxy way." So what exactly is the Foxy way? ... Fox paused. He smiled. And with the most laid-back, charismatic attitude of any coach in the NFL, he explained it the only way anyone could rationalize a 17-10 win that included only eight passes by quarterback Tim Tebow, against 55 running plays. "Do whatever the [heck] it takes," he laughed. "I mean, what the [heck]? You don't get points for style in this league. Let me tell you something: My man is really good in this offense. You know what I mean? "If we were trying to run a regular offense, he'd be [cooked]." (NFL.com)Comment

Mets leery of long-term deal for Reyes

A day that began with an offer to Jose Reyes ended with the Mets facing the decision to change that offer or watch him play for a division rival. [Multiple] Mets insiders described the team's reaction as two-fold: 1.) They believed the the process was still in its early phases, and 2.) Six years still did not sound particularly appealing. Ever since mid summer, people familiar with the team's plans have asserted that the Mets are unwilling to offer Reyes six or seven years. On Tuesday, there seemed to be a subtle softening of that tone -- no one would rule out a six-year deal -- but there was still much talk of concern related to Reyes' hamstring injuries. Lost season hurts Sacramento, helps Anaheim

Lawyer Gregory Lattimer and Allen Iverson tangled during a combative deposition in August, the third time the pair had crossed legal paths. Iverson accused the lawyer of targeting him for a payday. "I know you lurking. I know you lurking, man. I know you lurking," Iverson said. "How the [heck] you live with (it)? You've been involved with three suits against me. You know what to do. You got a plan." Lattimer: "I just go to work every day." Iverson: "I know, and I'm the one that pay you, and you know it. But not this time jack." ... In an interview Tuesday, Lattimer laughed while recalling the combative deposition. "It was quite something," Lattimer said. "I don't know why he was so outraged. It's not like I sue him every day."
