Chris Paul isn't LeBron James, which may be good for Knicks fans, many of whom will soon hear about his joining Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony in providing 800 meals for families with Feed the Children and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. But while Anthony's foundation is behind the event, it is Paul who likely will be the face of it, what with New York's basketball faithful and, although they can never admit it publicly, New York's basketball brass eager to see him in a Knicks uniform. ... Cubs interested in both Pujols and Prince
In a city famous for "Let's play two," Chicago may be bidding for a pair of the biggest fish in the pond? The Cubs are pursuing both Albert Pujols and Prince Fielder, and not simply because the free-agent first basemen are difference-makers. No, the Cubs also are acknowledging two emerging realities -- a dwindling number of sluggers available in future free-agent markets, and the restrictions on spending in the amateur draft under baseball's new collective-bargaining agreement. New Cubs president Theo Epstein and general manager Jed Hoyer have made it clear that they intend to rebuild the team. Heat turned up on Giants' Fewell
Other than a win over the Patriots in Week 9, this has been a November to forget for the Giants, who will open December against the undefeated Packers. Since their five-sack performance in a win over the Miami Dolphins on Oct. 30, they've had just five sacks and 14 quarterback hits in the last four games. Perry Fewell, the Giants' defensive coordinator, was asked last week where his pass rush has gone, and he said, "I can't put my finger on" the answer. He better do it soon, though, because if Brees can slice through his defense like he did on Monday night, what is Aaron Rodgers going do when the undefeated Green Bay Packers come to the Meadowlands on Sunday afternoon?
