China's Olympic swimmers to train in England to prepare for Games

BATH, England (AP) -- China's Olympic swim team will prepare for the London Games with a three-week training camp at the University of Bath in southwest England.

A group of 25 swimmers will arrive July 2 and relocate to the Olympic Village in London on July 22.

A delegation from the country's sports and swimming federations signed a contract with university vice chancellor Glynis Breakwell. The deal was announced Thursday.

The university has more than 1,000 Chinese students and has facilities including a 50-meter pool, a physiology unit, a physiotherapy unit, ice baths, saunas and video analysis technology.

University director of sport Stephen Baddeley says "China is one of sport's global superpowers and as such demand world-leading facilities and services."
