Yes, we had an NFL game last night. The Cardinals and Saints played in the Hall of Fame game, and it provided us with two outstanding moments. First, Arizona quarterback Kevin Kolb went down with a rib contusion in the first quarter. When Kolb's competitor for the starting job, John Skelton, came in to replace him, we got a classic missed high five. One can only wonder if Kolb's snub was more about his battle with Skelton than his frustration with the injury. We were also treated last night to NFL Network analyst Mike Mayockpassionately singingPlay That Funky Music.

White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski homered in his fifth straight game yesterday. The blast to right-center just made it over the fence, but nearly did some damage to a little boy who was still traumatized by the ball coming so close to him. On Friday, Pierzynski did some damage to sideline reporter Sarah Kustokin the form of a postgame pie.

This Guy Had An Event-Filled Weekend

Hot Clicks has been chronicling the wild celebrations by the A's all season long. The walkoff kings were at it again Friday, beating Toronto in their final at-bat. This led to Oakland's first postgame celebration in which a player used a costume. Outfielder Josh Reddickdressed up as Spiderman to slam Coco Crisp in the face with two pies.

This one is for my good friend and Hot Clicks fill-in, Andy Gray (a.k.a., @SI_Vault), who is in love with SI Swimsuit model Nina Agdal.

As proven by the wonder of YouTube, nobody does a meltdown quite like former Mets second baseman Wally Backman. Currently, he is the manager for New York's Triple-A affiliate. During a game on Friday, Backman went after the skipper of the Blue Jays Triple-A affiliate because he thought his team was stealing signs. Backman has since been suspended three games for his actions.

He's At It Again

Bryce Harper struck out yesterday. Then he slammed his bat on home plate and broke it in half.
