Before the Fall Classic started, the Giants were +155 to win the World Series and +1800 to beat the Tigers in four games. It took San Francisco 10 innings last night, but they completed the sweep over Detroit after Giants infielder Marco Scutaro continued his torrid postseason with an RBI single that snapped a 3-3 tie. Reliver Sergio Romo then closed things out in style by striking out the side in the bottom of the 10th. Here are the local and national calls of the final out.

I need to start by apologizing to Notre Dame football fans. At the begining of the season, I took a shot at the team on Twitter when it came to the BCS title picture. Clearly, the Irish have proved me wrong, and I'm an idiot. However, despite proving their relevance with an impressive win at Oklahoma on Saturday, no Notre Dame backer should ever go to this length to prove his fandom.
