Bardal had jumps of 130 and 128 meters for a total of 264.4 points to improve to 575 overall points after 12 of 28 events. He is 233 points behind leader Gregor Schlierenzauer of Austria, who was sick and didn't compete at the Adam Malysz Long Hill in Wisla.

Richard Freitag of Germany was second Wednesday with 252.2 points after jumps of 131 and 126.5 meters. Rune Velta of Norway jumped 127 and 126 meters to earn 251 points for third place.

Changing winds made officials lower the start down a level for the second run.

The next event is on Thursday in nearby Zakopane, also in Poland.
