One of them came Wednesday when he drove a ball into left for a double. So without much production to prove he's back, Votto offered some words of encouragement. "I'm getting there," he said. "I'm getting there." ... Nonetheless, scouts are starting to worry about him. "He's going to opposite way almost all the time," one NL scout said. "He's really not driving the ball. Agent denies Sixers want Collins gone
Perhaps where there is smoke, there is no fire -- at least not according to Doug Collins' agent. In the wake of a published report saying the organization privately hopes [Collins] doesn't return next season as 76ers coach, his agent claims it will be Collins' call. "The relationship with Doug, me and Sixers management has been terrific," said John Langel during a Thursday afternoon telephone conversation. "What they told me beyond this season and as recently as today and yesterday is how long Doug stays here is Doug's decision." Langel denied rumblings that the story, which cited multiple unnamed NBA sources, in Thursday's Philadelphia Inquirer originated from Collins' camp. (Phillyburbs.com)Comment
Garcia: Jets should dump Tebow
What would Jeff do? Pull the plug on the Tim Tebow circus and give Mark Sanchez every chance to be the best he can be. And do it before the New York Jets voluntary workouts begin April 15. That is the advice of Sanchez's quarterback guru, Jeff Garcia to new Jets general manager John Idzik. Wipe the slate clean from the old Mike Tannenbaum regime for a fresh start by Sanchez, 26, by getting rid of the Tebow distraction before it further undermines Sanchez. ... Garcia is confident Sanchez has what it takes to turn things around.
