Cruz hopes to score reality show
Victor Cruz's story is certainly worth telling, and he may be on the verge of gaining a bigger stage. [Cruz] is hoping to catch a reality show. The wide receiver -- known almost as well for his end-zone salsa dancing as he is for his prowess as a player -- told the Daily News he's in talks to land a TV series. "It is going to be something that is very unique to me and very unique to what I like, and like to do," he said. "We are still fielding some requests, so we will see how it goes -- the timing has to be right, and I have got to squeeze in some training in there before the season starts," he said. Harper: Should've gone on DL in April
Finally, Bryce Harper, who has been banged up nearly from head to toe in recent weeks, crashed into the disabled list. [Harper admitted Sunday] morning he probably should have gone on the DL two weeks earlier after a less-serious collision with the fence in Atlanta. "I think after I hit the wall here, I think I should have went on the DL, just try to get better and came back 15 days later," Harper said, referring to his April 29 encounter with the right-field fence at Turner Field. "With a lot of guys out, I wanted to stay in the lineup the way I was swinging it. Of course, I want to play every day. It's something that, maybe I'll learn more in my career to take off 15 days instead of lose the month or whatever it is." (CSN Washington)Comment
Howard admits to seeing psychiatrist
Dwight Howard had some unlikely competition recently. My daughter, Kelzer, is a mother now with three children, and it's been more than a decade since she spent much time shooting a basketball. But I flew Kelzer in from Arizona to teach Dwight Howard how to shoot free throws because she still has to be better than he is. ... He declined Kelzer's offer to help with his shooting technique, saying he will not change the way he shoots free throws this off-season. He'll just shoot more of them. "I have only one problem and it's between my ears," he said, while admitting he visited a Lakers' psychiatrist. "I just think too much." ... Kelzer quickly left Howard behind, yelling to him, "How's your world doing?" It was all good, Howard singing and rolling with every trash jab. (Los Angeles Times)Comment
