Belichick already annoyed by Tebowmania
Tebowmania blew into New England on Tuesday, a gaggle of media waiting to greet Tim Tebow, who offered merely a short statement. Not surprisingly, the classy Tebow didn't voice any ill-will toward Rex Ryan and the Jets. ... Tebow didn't take any questions. That was left to Belichick, who was clearly annoyed with all the Tebow questions after just five minutes. Not surprisingly, Belichick added no insight into how he plans to use Tebow nor did he provide any details how the decision was made. "He's a talented player. Smart and works hard," he said. He wouldn't specifically answer a question about football people around the NFL saying Tebow doesn't have the skills to play quarterback. (New York Daily News)Comment
Spurs face major uncertainty in Game 4
San Antonio's Game 3 win didn't come without what might be a significant cost, as Tony Parker will undergo an MRI on his injured right hamstring on Wednesday. The injury occurred late in the third quarter in a way that Parker does not remember. He was treated in the locker room for several minutes before briefly returning to action early in the fourth quarter. ... Parker played only two minutes after the injury and sat out most of the fourth quarter as Spurs coach Gregg Popovich wanted to rest him. "Pop didn't want to take any risk," Parker said. "We'll see. We'll know more [Wednesday]." The Spurs starting point guard said he expects to continually ice the injury until Game 4 on Thursday night. (San Antonio Express-News)Comment
Is Webb Simpson ready to defend title?
It's hard to believe that a year has come and gone since Webb Simpson picked up a gift major at the Olympic Club last year. It was a gift from Jim Furyk at the 16th hole where the 2003 U.S. Open Champion double crossed his driver and lost a four shot lead before the dust settled. Simpson picked up the third win of his career, and his first U.S. Open. A lot has happened in the world of golf since Simpson won his title last year, including a rule change which will disallow the use of his long putter, and anchored putting stroke when January 2016 rolls around. I'm sure that Simpson's U.S. Open title coming on the heels of Keegan Bradley winning the 2011 PGA Championship went a long way in pushing the USGA to this decision. It hasn't been a bad year since Simpson won, but then again, it hasn't been great either. He has missed four cuts, in the 2013 season, but had some good finishes as well. He finished alone in second place at the RBC Heritage, and placed in three top tens on the year. (Pro Golf Now)Comment
