Would the Raiders leave Oakland?
For some time now, the Raiders have been seeking a new stadium in Oakland. However, it doesn't look like they're any closer to realizing that goal today than they were 10 years ago. Raiders owner Mark Davis said Tuesday from the Spring League Meeting in a conversation with NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport that the team can pony up $400 million toward a new stadium, but "we need help." ... Will the City of Oakland help the Raiders? "I would probably say (negotiations are in) the 11th hour," Davis said. "It's always the 11th hour because we've been waiting a long time, been waiting a long time on this project. If it doesn't happen, then we have to start looking at the other options. ... We want to stay in Oakland. We want to get something done." (NFL.com)Comment
Warriors won't trade Thompson for Love
If this becomes the summer of Kevin Love in a new NBA city, it's going to sting a little. The Warriors are among a handful of teams said to be vying for Love. The others are the Bulls, Rockets, Celtics and Suns. Love's only power in a potential trade is deciding whether or not to sign a long-term extension with the team to which he is traded. Most potential suitors would back off a trade with Minnesota if Love makes clear he won't sign an extension. But his indication that he'd like to play for Golden State puts the Warriors on Minnesota's shortlist. ... Ideally, the Warriors could pull it off with a package of [David Lee], forward Harrison Barnes and the 2015 draft pick. That's probably the best the Warriors could offer. Subban on Lundqvist: 'Some of it is luck'
Quiet this series on the ice, P.K. Subban finally made some off of it. [Subban] had fired at Henrik Lundqvist until his trigger finger was sore and the Bell Centre ice was littered with spent shell casings. But Subban and the Canadiens have dented the Rangers' goalie just three times in two games and their playoff leading scorer is 0-for-12. But with typical Subban stubbornness, he won't concede the Eastern Conference final to the Rangers despite the growing odds. "Is he playing well? Yes, but some of it is luck," Subban said. ... "If we keep getting those looks (41 shots), we'll put some of them in the net." Subban directed nine right on goal, with six further attempts blocked and three that went high or wide. And if you add all the Montreal misses in Game 2, it worked out to 22, versus six by the Rangers. (Toronto Sun)Comment
