Adrian Peterson Hoping to Play This Season: 'I Still Feel Young'
CINCINNATI — Legendary running back Adrian Peterson isn't ready to retire yet.
The 36-year-old is hoping to join a contender before the start of the 2021 season.
"The training is going well and I'm going to control the things that I can control right now, and, when that time comes, somebody will give me a call," Peterson told Aaron Wilson of Sports Talk 790. "That's all I'm asking for. My body feels good. I came out healthy from last season. My body feels strong. I still feel young. I still feel good. I'm ready to play ball."
Peterson appeared in all 16 games for Detroit last season, finishing with 604 yards and seven touchdowns. He averaged 3.9 yards-per-carry.
He topped the 1,000-yard mark in 2018 and while he isn't as explosive as he once was, Peterson is still a serviceable running back.
Unfortunately for him, there are plenty of big named backs that haven't signed with a team including Le'Veon Bell, LeSean McCoy, Frank Gore and Todd Gurley.
Peterson may get another shot, but it might not come until after training camp starts.
