In this story:

Deshaun Watson is done for the 2023 Season. In two years since becoming a Cleveland Brown, he has only played in 12 games and hasn't quite hit his stride under center, although he appeared to be turning the corner.

It's a disappointing end to Watson's 2023 campaign and a devastating blow to a Browns season with sky high playoff hopes. That said, the Browns can't wallow in self pity.

As Andrew Berry said Wednesday in an impromptu press conference following the news. "Pity does us no good."

Without Watson, the Browns roster is still loaded and they have the potential to win a number of games down the stretch of the season. With P.J. Walker and Dorian Thompson-Robinson in the building and ready to step in for Watson, Berry made it known that the team believes in carrying three QBs.

"One thing that I will share is that we will add a quarterback at some point in the near future. What that will look like will be determined."

The Browns now find themselves back in the quarterback market, a place where we never wanted to be again. Only this time, the well is dry and the trade deadline has passed.

Should the Browns look beyond Walker of Thompson-Robinson for a veteran who could take over under center, their hope at this point is to find a QB that can catch lightening in a bottle and captain the offense for a playoff run. It's possibly, but also unlikely. Still here are some of the names available on the market right now.

Joe Flacco

The 38 year old veteran got his last work early last season for the New York Jets. Some may remember Flacco leading that improbable comeback win over the Browns in Week 2. Flacco is long removed from his Super Bowl winning year but could come in and not turn the ball over, find completions and manage the game.

Colt McCoy

This name is being tossed around quite a bit. Not particularly a fan of this option but bringing McCoy would be another veteran presence in the quarterback room and a guy you could toss in there in case of emergency

Tom Brady

The memes are fun, but this isn't happening.

Cam Newton

Cam is an option that would be a ton of fun for the fanbase. If he has anything left in the tank he could come in and make a difference for this team. With that said, his last effective year of football was in 2018 before his time with New England. He has the utmost confidence in himself so maybe he is worth a flyer?

Nick Foles

Speaking of catching lightening in a bottle, that's Nick Foles to a T. He is five years removed from his Super Bow run and wasn't great in Indianapolis. However, again, he'd be a veteran presence for the Browns quarterback room. May be worth a shot.

Philip Rivers

If the Browns can scratch and claw their way into the playoffs maybe call up the gunslinger and see if he still has anything left in the tank for a Playoff run.
