Browns Missing 5 Players in Practice Wednesday

In this story:
Deshaun Watson isn’t the only Cleveland Browns starter set to miss practice Wednesday in Berea.
TE Harrison Bryant (hip), RB Kareem Hunt (thigh), CB Greg Newsome II (hamstring) and LB Anthony Walker Jr. (concussion) will join Watson (right shoulder) in players set to miss practice, according to the Browns. All of them are key players whose statuses are worth monitoring throughout the week as the Browns prepare to play the Colts in Week 7.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski wouldn’t provide any updates beyond Wednesday for any of the players, but he did say that he won’t rule out Watson for Sunday’s game in Indianapolis.
Stefanski once again said Watson was “day-to-day,” which has been the line he’s used for Watson’s status since Week 6 began.
Watson, of course, has missed the last two games with his shoulder injury and didn’t have any timeline for his return when he spoke with the media on Wednesday. Stefanski said QB P.J. Walker would continue to be the backup option after he started for the Browns in their 19-17 win over the 49ers last week.
Missing Watson for a third straight game would certainly impede the Browns’ chances of building their first winning streak of the season, and any further absences from the other players sidelined Wednesday wouldn’t be good, either — Hunt had his best game of the season in Week 6, while Newsome and Walker both play key roles in a defense that has begun the season at a league-best clip.
Not all the injury news Wednesday was negative: All-Pro G Joel Bitonio was back on the practice fields after missing the win over the 49ers with a knee injury.
