Watch: 360 video from favela before the Rio 2016 opening ceremony

Sports Illustrated produced a 360 video of photographers Simon Bruty setting up for the 2016 Rio Olympics opening ceremony.

With the opening ceremony of the Rio Olympic Games being held on Friday, the Sports Illustrated photography team was hard at work hours before, setting up for the perfect shot.

Photographer Simon Bruty decided to set up on the roof of a favela in Mangueira, just a few hundred yards from the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

SI produced a 360 video from the rooftop, giving a first-hand look at Bruty’s preparations for the opening ceremony.

The opening ceremony went off without a hitch to get the 31st Olympics underway.

The Rio Olympic Games will be held from Aug. 5–21.
