Red Bulls' Henry ruled out of L.A. clash

The New York Red Bulls announced Tuesday that forward Thierry Henry will miss the team's game against the Los Angeles Galaxy match at The Home Depot Center on Friday, Sept. 24.

Henry is reportedly sidelined due to a MCL sprain in his right knee which suffered the injury against Real Salt Lake on Sept. 4.

"We spoke to Thierry Monday and we decided that it was the best course of action for his health and for our club to rest him this week," said Red Bull New York general manager Erik Soler on the team's website. "Despite the attention surrounding this Friday's match, we did not want to exacerbate Thierry's current injury that he has been playing and practicing with over the past two weeks."
