VALENCIA, Spain (AP) -- Levante maintained its surprise bid for a Champions League spot by beating Sevilla 1-0 at home from Nano's second-half goal in the Spanish league on Saturday.

Nano forced the ball over the line in the 56th minute after Arouna Kone's header from a corner was fumbled by goalkeeper Javi Varas.

The result consolidated fourth spot for Levante, which is four points ahead of fifth-place Sevilla.

Also, a stoppage-time double from Ruben Castro fired Real Betis to a 2-1 win against third-place Valencia.

Betis defender Jose Dorado deflected the ball into his own net for the opening goal in the 66th minute as he tried to stop Jeremy Mathieu's pass reaching Roberto Soldado.

But Castro headed the equalizer in the first minute of added time and hit the winner seconds before the final whistle to earn his side a first win in 11 matches.

The loss capped a miserable week for Valencia, which dropped out of the Champions League in midweek, while Betis moved four points clear of the relegation zone.
