Carbonero replaces injured Ramirez for Colombia

BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) Colombia coach Jose Pekerman has named midfielder Carlos Carbonero to the World Cup team to replace the injured Aldo Leao Ramirez.

The loss of Ramirez, who was injured in Friday's 3-0 friendly win over Jordan, comes after Monaco striker Radamel Falcao was left off Colombia's squad due to his slow recovery from a knee injury.

Carbonero, who plays for River Plate in the Argentine first division league, has not played for Colombia since Pekerman took charge in January 2012.

Colombia plays its first match in Group C against Greece on June 14 in Belo Horizonte. Japan and Greece are also in the group.
