Oxlade-Chamberlain has been dealing with ligament issues in his right knee, stemming from an injury suffered in England's final pre-World Cup friendly, but he has now made progress and resumed training ahead of a crucial match with Uruguay. According to Sky Sports, Oxlade-Chamberlain's knee was heavily wrapped when he took the field on Monday.

There is no official word on Oxlade-Chamberlain's status for the Uruguay match, but his return to the pitch is a promising sign for a side that will be looking to get three points off Uruguay. La Celeste are also in must-win mode after a stunning 3-1 loss to Costa Rica. England vs. Uruguay will take place on Thursday afternoon at Arena Corinthians in São Paulo. Kick-off is set for 3 p.m. ET.
