Barcelona forward Lionel Messi pulled an adductor muscle in his right hip in Sunday's 1-0 win over Villarreal, the team announced.
Messi played the entire game and set up Sandro Ramirez for the game's only goal in the 82nd minute. But the 27-year-old will undergo tests on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.
Messi missed time last season with a hamstring injury. He has two goals in Barcelona's first three La Liga games this season.
