Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers told striker Mario Balotelli he needs to score more, BBC Sport reports.

Balotelli has scored just one goal in seven games since his £16 million ($25.6 million) transfer from AC Milan.

From the BBC:

"In terms of goals he needs to improve, it is as simple as that," said Rodgers. "Not just him but any striker is judged on goals and at this moment he hasn't probably hit the numbers he would want to."

According to BBC, Balotelli did not touch the ball in the opposition penalty area during Wednesday's Champions League loss to FC Basel.
