After Mexico defeated Jamaica 3-1 to clinch the nation's seventh Gold Cup title on Sunday, Mexico manager Miguel Herrera hit television commentator Christian Martinoli at the Philadelphia airport Monday morning, according to a report from Azteca's Devid Medrano.

The altercation took place when Martinoli ran into the Mexican national team by the airport's security gate. Herrera punched him in the neck and threatened him, according to AS Mexico. Herrera reportedly asked Martinoli to go out into the street to settle things.

Martinoli called out Herrera on Twitter in June. Herrera responded and later apologized for saying that he was looking forward to their next meeting.

Herrera and Mexico will play the U.S. men's national team in a one-game playoff at the Rose Bowl Oct. 9 for a berth in the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia.
