Chelsea have agreed to acquire Leicester City star N’Golo Kante for a transfer fee that has yet to be disclosed, the club announced Saturday.

The transfer fee will be in the range of $38 million to $42 million, according to reports from Sky Sports and the Guardian.

Chelsea is reportedly ready to offer Kante a deal worth around $158,000 a week, triple what he earned with the Premier League champions last season.

Kante is coming off a season in which he produced breakout performances with Leicester and the French national team. Leicester offered the 25-year-old an improved contract, but he decided to head to one of the league perennial powers.

“I am so happy to have signed for one of the biggest clubs in Europe. It’s a dream come true for me,” Kante said in a club press release.

“The opportunity to work with Antonio Conte, a brilliant coach, and some of the best players in the world was simply too good to turn down.”

Kante started 33 games in midfield for Leicester, which shocked the world in claiming its first Premier League title in club history.
