Dani Carvajal misses Spain training with flu

MADRID (AP) Spain defender Dani Carvajal missed the team's training session on Wednesday because of flu, while reserve goalkeeper Pepe Reina was dropped from the squad after picking up a muscle injury.

The Spanish soccer federation said Carvajal did not train as a ''precaution'' ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Israel on Friday.

Reina had missed a practice session on Tuesday and on Wednesday doctors concluded that he would not be fit in time for the team's upcoming matches.

Spain plays a friendly against France in Saint-Denis, four days after the home game against Israel in Gijon.

Spain and Italy lead Group G of European qualifying with 10 points each after four matches. Israel is third with nine points.
