Burnley have confirmed the signing of Stoke City's Jonathan Walters on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The club's official website announced the signing of the 33-year-old who will add a wealth of experience to the Clarets as they embark on their second successive Premier League season.

Walters made over 250 appearances for the Potters in a career spanning seven seasons at the Bet365 stadium and he will now join up with his new Burnley teammates on Monday as the squad heads to Ireland for a pre-season training camp.

The 33-year-old has been confirmed as the club's new number 19 as he joins his fellow Irish contingent of Jeff Hendrick, Stephen Ward, Robbie Brady and Kevin Long at Turf Moor.

Walters first taste of England's top flight came following his move to Stoke in a £3m deal in 2010 from Ipswich Town, and he has not looked back since.

The Republic of Ireland international netted 62 goals in 269 appearances for the Potters as he hit double goal scoring figures in four of his seven seasons with Stoke.

Born on Merseyside, the 2015 Republic of Ireland Player of the Year holds onto his crown for the only player in Stoke City's history to score a Premier League hat-trick, as the forward scored three for the Potters against QPR in 2015.
