Liverpool will insist on inserting a buy-back clause in any deal involving winger Ryan Kent, according to the Daily Star.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a productive stint on loan at Barnsley last season, scoring three goals from midfield, but he doesn't appear to be in Jurgen Klopp's plans for the upcoming campaign.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe reportedly approached the Reds regarding the player's availability and has received positive feedback as they are open to selling him albeit having rejected the offer of a loan deal from Celtic.

However, they won't be doing any business if the Cherries are averse to having a buy-out clause as part of the deal.

Kent has been with Liverpool since the age of seven. He progressed through the ranks at the club and now features for their Under-20 side.

He must have impressed Klopp at one point, though, having gotten recalled from loan by the German after spending the first half of the 2015/16 season with Coventry.

After rejoining his parent club, Kent was handed his first senior appearance in a 2-2 FA Cup draw against Exeter, which remains his only first-team outing to date.

The youngster made 42 appearances for Barnsley in the Championship last term, and has represented England at Under-18 and Under-20 level.

Given Liverpool's desire to avoid burning bridges, though, one can surmise that there's certainly something special about him.
