Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti has aired his views on the Bavarians' new loanee James Rodriguez.

In a Twitter post by the club, the veteran Italian coach is seen praising his team's temporary signing from Madrid, saying that he is 'a fantastic player'.

Ancelotti also highlighted the Colombian's attacking ability, and gave a warning to any of the Bundesliga giants' future opponents by adding: "He knows how to open up defences for our strikers with that killer pass."

26-year-old Rodriguez joined Bayern Munich on a two-year loan deal earlier this month, as it appeared he wished to receive more regular game time in one of the world's best sides after being somewhat overlooked by Zinedine Zidane.

It has also come to light that he will be wearing the number 10 shirt at his new club, amid Bayern's preparations for the new campaign in which they will be defending their Bundesliga title, and attempting to progress further in the Champions League.

Rodriguez netted an impressive 28 goals whilst playing for Madrid, and featured in 77 games for Los Blancos before a rather uncommon two-year loan deal was struck that will see him spend his more advanced years in Germany.

Previously, the winger had transferred to Real for a fee reported to be around £70m in 2014.
