New AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci has named the best player he's ever faced his entire career.

The 30-year-old centre-back joined the Rossoneri from Juventus earlier this month, with the deal costing the San Siro side €42m, and should be hoping to challenge his former side for the Scudetto, a trophy which the Turin-based outfit have held since 2012.

Speaking to Milan TV (H/T Football Italia) on Sunday, Bonucci stressed on his intention to help bring the club back to the golden times.

"It’s now our task to bring Milan back to where they deserve to be," he said.

He also named Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player he's ever gone up against, having felt the Portugal international's impact up close and personal in his last competitive match for Juventus - this year's Champions League final. He also referred to Ronaldo as the best player in the world.

“The best player in the world? Cristiano Ronaldo," the Italian declared, quite candidly. He’s the best player I’ve ever faced. He has all the characteristics of a champion."

Bonucci's compatriot Andrea Pirlo was branded his best ever teammate.

He said: “Best player I’ve played with? Pirlo? Give him the ball and he’ll put it in the bank. I learned so much from Andrea.”
