France and the Netherlands meet at Stade de France on Thursday in a World Cup qualifier that could and should prove pivotal for both sides.

In Group A of qualification, France sits second and the Netherlands third behind Sweden, with France holding a three-point lead over the Dutch. It’s a must-win for the latter and a big opportunity for the hosts.

France will be without injured Raphael Varane in addition to Ousmane Dembele, and the Netherlands will miss Virgil van Dijk in defense.
