How to Watch Syria vs. Australia: World Cup Playoff Live Stream, Game Time, TV Channel

How to watch Syria vs. Australia on October 5.

Syria and Australia play the first leg of their World Cup qualifying playoff on Thursday in Malaysia.

After three straight successful qualifications, Australia must defeat Syria in a two-game test. Depsite losing just once in 10 games, Australia finished behind Japan and Saudi Arabia in group B with 19 points, failing to earn much-needed points in away matches against Thailand, Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

Syria, who are looking for their first ever qualification for the World Cup Finals, finished third in Asia group A behind Iran and South Korea. Syria were able to capitalize on late defensive mishaps to get to the playoff, scoring a 91st minute winner over Uzbekistan and a 93rd minute equalizer against China.

The winner of this two-leg AFC World Cup playoff will play the fourth best team from CONCACAF qualifying, again over a two-leg playoff. The United States currently occupies the fourth spot with two games of qualifying to go.
