Twitter Erupts With Fury as Kyle Walker Ends Up on Free Kick Duty for England Against Slovenia

As if England's drab and boring performance during their 1-0 win over Slovenia to qualify for the World Cup 2018 wasn't bad enough, Roy Hodgson's set-piece 'expertise' seems to have wormed its way back into the England set-up.

England won a free kick towards the end of the first half, in a promising position just outside the penalty area. What next - would we see Harry Kane step up (yes, he has hit the post twice from free kicks for Tottenham this season)? Would Marcus Rashford bend one in?

Nope. Up stepped full-back Kyle Walker, who has probably never taken a free kick in his club career, to test himself against Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak. Surprisingly enough, the ball zoomed into the stands (Row M, at a guess).

If people were angry about Harry Kane taking corners at Euro 2016, how would they react to this? 

Answer: badly. England's football may be dull and despondent, but at least the rest of it makes some amount of sense. What on earth is going on with England and set pieces?
