Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez is keeping tabs on Besiktas and Turkey international Cenk Tosun, amid speculation of a £20m transfer.

According to reports from CNN Turk, Newcastle have retained their summer interest in the striker as Benitez looks to add more goals to his side.

The Magpies have been continually linked with Tosun and head the queue in front of fellow Premier League sides Tottenham and Crystal Palace.

Tosun has enjoyed an impressive start to the season, scoring four goals in nine appearances in the Turkish Super Lig, while scoring three goals in three Champions League games as Besiktas sit top of their group, that includes FC Porto, RB Leipzig and AS Monaco

These performances have seen Tossun's price tag increase from £13m in the summer to a reported £20m for interested sides, as Newcastle look set to make a bid.

Despite Newcastle's solid start to the Premier League season, they have amassed ten goals in ten games so far, with Rafa Benitez hoping the signing of the Turkish international can improve their fortunes in front of goal.
