Recently appointed Leicester City manager Claude Puel is allegedly interested in reuniting with out-of-favour Paris Saint-Germain winger Hatem Ben Arfa.

Reports from The Sun suggest that Puel would be keen to add the Frenchman to his squad when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Speaking about Ben Arfa, Puel said: "Hatem is someone I appreciate equally as a player and a person.

"I don't have any concerns about Hatem's form. I have met him from time to time, and we have talked."

It was under Puel at Ligue 1 side Nice that Ben Arfa discovered his best form, scoring 17 goals in 34 appearances in 2015/16.

This form led the former Newcastle United man to sign with French giants PSG, although he struggled to make an impact in 23 appearances for the Parisian side the following season.

With the January transfer window looming, Puel is keen to assess the players he has at Leicester before delving into the market for new recruits.

He continued, stating: "For me it's important right now to really get to know my squad, and then I can turn to the transfer window."

Despite his limited time with Leicester, Puel impressed in his first game in charge of the Foxes with a convincing 2-0 victory against a struggling Everton.
