Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas has revealed he wants to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge, despite reports of a loose interest from Manchester United.

The 30-year-old is in his fourth season with the Blues following a €33m switch from Barcelona, and has 18 months left to run on his existing deal.

The silky Spaniard would be 32 by the time that contract expires, but he is already eyeing an extension at the club, as reported exclusively by the Evening Standard.

"Would I like to renew? Yes, because it is a club that has always treated me well. I believe the fans have a lot of respect for me and I have a lot of respect for them. I have given my all for the club for the last three-and-a-half years.

"This is a fantastic club for me and I have had a fantastic time here. Hopefully another contract will happen. Time will tell."

Fabregas is one of Chelsea's top earners on £160,000-a-week, and although there is no indication of a new deal on the table, he would almost certainly be in line for a pay rise if or when the time comes.

The Blues may well be forced into action quicker than they would like though, with Jose Mourinho supposedly intrigued about bringing the playmaker to Old Trafford
