PHOTO: Mertesacker Responds After Shkodran Mustafi Trolls Arsenal Teammates on Twitter

Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has trolled two of his teammates in training ahead of the Gunners' huge game with Tottenham on Saturday.

Arsene Wenger's men lie sixth in the table on 19 points - four behind third-placed Spurs - and must win at the Emirates if they are to keep pace with those around them.

The deficit between them and Manchester City already seems too great to overcome to think about the Premier League title, but it's all about sealing another top four finish and getting back into the Champions League for Wenger and his players, and Mustafi has appeared relaxed ahead of a big weekend.

The 25-year-old, who is back in full training after getting injured during the last international break with Germany, has been larking about in training, posing next to two pieces of equipment in which he compared the smaller one to Santi Cazorla and the taller one to Mertesacker, whom he labelled the 'BFG'.

His banter prompted Mertesacker to respond on Twitter, and the German posted his own version of the same photo, with a much taller and clearly photoshopped piece of equipment, and the caption: "That’s @AaronRamsey my friend, this would be me."

Arsenal will be hoping for good news regarding Olivier Giroud for the north London derby - the striked picked up a thigh injury while on duty with France, and Spurs are sweating on England trio Harry Kane, Harry Winks and Dele Alli.
