Tottenham's trip to the Emirates certainly surprised a large section of fans who believed that this Spurs side, who recently beat the European champions 3-0, would run rampant over their fierce rivals. 

Fans and pundits alike believed that Tottenham had finally bridged the gap between them and their north London neighbours last season, after finishing above Arsenal for the first time in over 20 years.

However, the Gunners were the far better side as they came away with a 2-0 victory. It was a generous scoreline for Spurs, considering that Arsenal had control over the game for the majority of the 90 minutes.

Mesut Ozil once again was a standout performer as the German seems adamant to prove his critics wrong and display his class for the Gunners. Fellow German international Shkrodan Mustafi scored the first goal to break the deadlock, which was shortly followed by a second goal from Alexis Sanchez.

Tottenham will be looking for a better result as league leaders Manchester City are running away with the title.
