Kane Trolls Himself After Wigan Star Bagged a Brace & Legged it Off the Pitch for Birth of His Baby

Tuesday was, to put it bluntly, a day that Wigan star Ryan Colclough will never forget.

The winger had bagged a brace for the Latics in their 3-0 win over Doncaster, but was strangely subbed off on 55 minutes. The reason? His wife's waters had broken and he was needed at the hospital.

Getting to his significant other's bedside with 30 minutes to spare, Colclough was on hand to witness the birth of his first child. We think you'll agree that such a lovely moment was a perfect hat-trick for him, but one fellow professional couldn't help but use the wideman's special day to pour some self-deprecating humour for himself:

Yep, none other than Tottenham ace Harry Kane waded into the fray to joke that he would have stayed on the field to complete his footballing hat-trick before heading off to the birth of his own children!

The 24-year-old striker has often been withdrawn from the action by Mauricio Pochettino when one goal shy of netting a hat-trick this season - five times in fact! - so it's somewhat amusing to see him throw a bit of shade his own way.

We imagine that his own partner might have something to say about his joke though...
