Huddersfield winger Rajiv van La Parra has received a three-game ban following his dismissal at the end of his side's 2-1 defeat against Manchester City at the John Smith's Stadium.

After the full time whistle had blown, Dutch midfielder van La Parra and City winger Leroy Sané were involved in an altercation, with the former being shown a red card, and the latter being only shown a yellow for his actions.

The Huddersfield winger was clearly angry with City's tactic of running down the clock and took his anger out on the German, with van La Parra appearing to grab Sane's face during the scuffle.

The Terriers winger will now miss his side's upcoming games against Arsenal, Everton and Brighton. The 26 year old has been an ever present in for his side this season, and will be missed.

Despite the sending off occurring after the game, it is worrying times for Huddersfield as it was the second consecutive game in which one of their players had been shown a red card. German Christopher Schindler was sent off in their 1-0 win over struggling West Brom in their previous fixture.

As for the team, they can be proud of their efforts against a City side that have been blowing teams away this season, and they can feel unlucky, after a late scruffy goal from Englishman Raheem Sterling gave the Citizens all three points.

Huddersfield currently sit 11th in the league, a position they would have gladly taken at the beginning of the season. As for Manchester City, their incredible run continues with 12 wins in a row, as they look to secure their first title under Pep Guardiola.
