Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed that Gonzalo Higuaín could miss Juventus's clash against high-flying Napoli this weekend after suffering a hand injury.

The Argentine international will be eager to play against his old side after leaving the Stadio San Paolo in 2016. During a three-year spell in Naples, Higuaín scored 92 goals and claimed 26 assists in just 147 appearances across all competitions.

"He has hurt his hand," Allegri confirmed in an interview with RAI Sport (via Calcio Mercato). "Tomorrow he will undergo examinations to see the extent of the injury put it us possible that he won't play against Napoli."

The Juve manager also touched on how his side are preparing to face Napoli on Friday, with the Bianconeri currently sitting four points behind Maurizio Sarri's side in the race for the Scudetto, with Inter Milan also ahead of Allegri's Juventus in the Serie A table.

"Playing at the San Paolo is always difficult and the games never seem to end. Napoli have been doing great things for three years, they just encountered a Juventus side that was even stronger.

"We must play with good technique and intelligence, I expect it to be a balanced game decided by details.

"I hope Friday will be a wonderful evening of sport. We’ve done some very good things this season, while their results have been extraordinary.

"It doesn’t count now if you are a point ahead or behind, it’s when we get to the sprint finish. What matters is to be top of the league in May."
