Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is reportedly eyeing a January swoop for Brazilian duo Alex Sandro and Lucas Moura - as well as a number of former summer targets the club missed out on - when the transfer window re-opens in the new year.

According to the Daily Mail, the Italian is eyeing a number of recruits across the park with the former Italy and Juventus boss having told the Blues hierarchy they risk being left in Premier League leaders Manchester City's dust without significant investment in the winter window.

Top of the 48-year-old's list could be a return for former player Alex Sandro from Juve. Having been linked with a move for the Brazilian international for most of last summer, a switch failed to materialise for the versatile left wing-back.

It is thought that whilst Sandro was keen on the move to England with the defending league champions, the Brazilian was not keen to force a move away from Turin, with the Bianconeri themselves citing a £60m for the 26-year-old former FC Porto defender.

Whilst Marcos Alonso has continued to turn in consistent performances on the left of midfield for Chelsea, there are concerns that the Spaniard is beginning to feel the strain of an extensive fixture list, with Blues having to juggle domestic and European commitments this term.

Conte is also keen on Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura, after the Brazilian midfielder fell down the pecking order in French capital following the money-spinning arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar this past summer.

Eden Hazard has returned to top form for Chelsea on the left once more after injury, but the London side have lacked a spark in the opposite wide areas this term, with both Willian and Pedro having failed to recapture their form of last season.

With Cesc Fabregas having dropped back to a more deeper - if more regular role - the Blues have also lacked an out-and-out playmaker also this campaign.

To that end, Ross Barkley is also back on the club's radar following interest in the final weeks before August's deadline day. The Englishman however is yet to play this season for struggling Everton due to injury, so a move remains to be seen.

Other moves mooted for Chelsea include interest in Lyon's French defender Mouctar Diakhaby and Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke.
