VIDEO: No Comment! Guardiola Abruptly Calls Time on Press Conference After Alexis Sanchez Probe

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was extremely cagey when asked by a journalist about a possible January swoop for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez on Saturday, with the question throwing him off so much he decided to call his press conference a day before offering a conclusive answer.

The Citizens recorded their 15th straight Premier League win at the weekend, disposing of fellow Champions League outfit Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

Goals from Ilkay Gundogan, Kevin De Bruyne and a Raheem Sterling brace were enough to comfortably overcome a late conciliation effort from Spurs' Christian Eriksen in stoppage time and send the Sky Blues 14 points clear of second place Manchester United in the top-flight title chase.

It would seem considering City's current goalscoring prowess that an additional attacker is simply not needed, and although Guardiola is said to be eyeing up a centre-back in January, the north west giants continue to be linked with Arsenal's Sanchez.

The Chile international is approaching the final six months of his current deal at the Emirates Stadium, and it is thought the Gunners are keen to at least see some financial return for their biggest star before he is permitted to leave on a free transfer at the end of this season.

Reports suggest that the Premier League leaders are hot favourites to land the 28-year-old, with the player also keen on making the move happen.

It seems then that it would be the perfect fit for both parties if they were to land Sanchez, and Guardiola simply added fuel to the transfer fire by refusing to deny claims they were keen on snapping up the playmaker and goalscorer before recoiling and exiting his press conference rather abruptly.

"Good question", the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss responded to The Guardian and Observer journalist Jamie Jackson's probe surrounding his future plans in the chase for the Arsenal man, as quoted by Goal correspondent Sam Lee via his official Twitter page.

"The transfer window is in the winter time so I don't know. Believe me I don't know what we are going to do."
