Arsenal Legend David Seaman Says Aaron Ramsey's Free Transfer to Juventus Is 'Demoralising'

Arsenal club legend David Seaman has slammed his former side's transfer policy after Aaron Ramsey agreed a four year deal with Serie A champions Juventus earlier this week.

The Welshman failed to agree terms on a new deal in north London and as a result will bring his 11-year association with the club to an end this summer.

Arsenal have lost Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United and Jack Wilshere to West Ham on free transfers in the past year, with Ramsey now following suit, a move which has left Seaman seething, as he revealed in an interview on talkSPORT (as quoted by Football.London).

“I’m still fuming at the fact that we’re going to lose him (Aaron Ramsey),” Seaman said.

“What’s more frustrating is they’ve announced that Emery is going to get £40m to spend in the summer, that’s what you’d have to pay to get someone like Ramsey anyway. It’s demoralising for me and even more demoralising for the fans to hear that and then to see quality players leaving again.”

With 61 goals in over 350 games for club, the task of replacing Ramsey will be next on Emery's agenda, yet after it surfaced that the Gunners boss would only have £40m to spend in the summer, it will prove an uphill task to find a adequate replacement for the 28-year-old.

Seaman added: “I don’t get what the forward thinking is. Emery gets one transfer window and is told he can only get loans, then in the second window told he only has £40m to spend. It’s so frustrating.”
