USMNT–Netherlands: Date, Time Set For Knockout Stage Match

With a victory over Iran on Tuesday, the USMNT is officially moving on in the World Cup.

The USMNT is through to the knockout stage for the first time since 2014, thanks to Christian Pulisic’s first-half goal. The win, along with England’s victory over Wales, means the USMNT earn second place in the Group B standings.

On Saturday, the USMNT will return to action vs. the Netherlands in the first of two games in the day, with the match slated to begin at 10 a.m. ET on Fox. England and Senegal will follow with a match in the early afternoon.

When the men next take the field, it is unclear if they will have their best player as Pulisic was forced out of Tuesday’s game with an abdomen injury. He was sent to get scans at the hospital and the severity of the injury is not known yet.

The Round of 16 will feature two games a day from Saturday to Tuesday before the World Cup takes two days off. If the USMNT win on Saturday, they will next play the following Friday. It would be the team’s first trip to the quarterfinals since the 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan.
