Rayo Majadahonda player Rubén Sánchez made history scoring the first ever goal in the Primera RFEF, the newly formed Spanish third tier, in August 2021. He scored after Cultural Leonesa goalkeeper Dani Sotres made an unfortunate attempt to clear the ball. Rayo won the game 2-0 away from home and the goal remains one of the strangest of the season.
