We’ve seen COVID-19 put an immediate halt on the sports world. The NBA hopes to give fans a positive update on the suspension of the regular season by April 30th. For the first time ever the NFL have decided to have their high-profile draft online to virtually select prospects to their franchises. As for soccer, in a time when transfer rumors begin to fly, it's become silly to engage in any talks of player movement due to confusion caused the coronavirus. Bundesliga CEO Christian Seifert had this to say to the New York Times in regards to the transfer market, “In the short term I would say the transfer market this summer will not exist, it will collapse. Some agents will suddenly understand that they will have to work hard, or at least work; some leagues will understand that money is nothing that is coming automatically every month from heaven.” In his article on SI.com, Avi Creditor further explains the silliness surrounding transfer rumors because of the unknown caused by COVID-19.
