Wimbledon was the one major tournament in tennis that had the foresight to purchase pandemic insurance, and in light of the coronavirus pandemic the payout for the policy was sizable. As senior writer Jon Wertheim reports here, a part of the payout to the tournament was allotted to players. More than 600 players received payouts from the tournament in a gesture that helped out players who, some of which, might desperately need the money.
